This is what the early Church was focused on 2000 years ago. His name was Jesus Christ and He rose from the dead in power and even now, ALL AUTHORITY in heaven and on earth has been given to Him. It was this focus that saw the Church explode and turn the world upside down during a much harder time of persecution than we are facing in the western world...and it is this focus that will still make the greatest difference in our world today!
When Jesus came into Jerusalem the week of His Passion to lay down His life for the sins of the world, He could have gathered His disciples together and sought to bring change and reform to the Roman political leaders of the day. He could have dealt with their brutal policies of crucifixion and public scourging along with unfair taxes and bullying techniques, but instead Jesus went into the House of the LORD and cleared out the Temple of the defilement that misrepresented God. The Scriptures tell us that judgment begins in the house of God and that we are now the temple of the Holy Spirit. The Lord wants us to live like the pure and spotless bride that He made us to be after He who knew no sin became sin for us (2 Cor. 5:21).
Therefore, we need to approach CHANGE much differently than those who will be handling things in the White House. God is much more interested in His House than the White House. Jesus has called us to be "the light of the world" and "the salt of the earth". But Jesus also said, "if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned?..." (Matt. 5:13) We must walk by faith and "pray always and not lose heart" (Luke 18:1). It is by God's sovereignty that He has allowed Barack Obama to become the next President of the United States (Rom.13). We had a divine privilege to vote and we took advantage of it...But now God is wanting to remind the Church that we have a much greater divine privilege and that is "not be overcome by evil, but to overcome evil with good." (Rom. 12:21).
Politicians will be politicians...but the Church needs to be the Church!
It is time for the Church to awaken out of slumber and complacency and to be zealous in good works by promoting our King who has given us a heavenly citizenship and made us partakerss of the Kingdom of God. NOW IS THE TIME FOR CHANGE...CHANGE FOR GOD'S PEOPLE! Now is the time to rise up and "let our light so shine before men that they will see our good works and glorify our Father in heaven" (Matt. 5:16).
We MUST fight the good fight of faith and present the TRUE HOPE OF THE WORLD, JESUS THE CHRIST, THE ONE WHO WAS, AND IS, AND IS TO COME!!!!
So let's focus on our LEADER WHO REIGNS IN POWER and MAKE HIM KNOWN TO ALL BY THE WAY WE LIVE, MOVE AND HAVE OUR BEING!!!! Amen and Amen!
